Across the miles, we hope this blog helps our friends and family get a feel of where we are and what we're doing. A small way we can keep in touch with you all until we get home. God Bless You All.
The 29th was our 12th anniversary. Les sent me this necklace from Iraq. It has our name in Arabic on one side and in English on the other. Everyone has complimented me on it since I started wearing it. Thank you honey, I miss you so much!!
Here's Nathan receiving his 1st green belt certificate from Aleshia, who is a blue belt and daughter of a friend of mine. And Lucas getting his 2nd green belt certificate...
Here are a couple of pictures during the day when we were setting up for the dining in. That is our 3 tables with the big "Lifeliners" and the soldier in the middle. Our tables had items representing all four of our companies. Once I get more pictures, you'll be able to see the final outcome, which was pretty good, since we did win best table decorations. These are just a few of the baskets that each battalion donated to be auctioned off. This was at the entrance.
I received an award on the 20th for volunteer of the month for Brigade in February. This is the fourth award I have received since Les deployed. I also received VOM for the spouses club and the battalion. Volunteering is a great way to keep busy and it also benefits the community greatly. Here's Janet Fortune pinning my Dagger pin on.
That's Lucas jumping for the rebound and there's Nathan fighting for the rebound-#20 Lucas is in front, Nathan is at the end... Lucas shooting a practice foul shot These are from their championship game Nathan was still sick that day and didn't get to play, but the coach wanted him in the picture also
Our team had a basketball jamboree in Bamberg. They had to play 3 games that day. The first one was at 10 and the last one was at 4. Needless to say, it was a long day. They did win all 3 games. Nathan didn't get to play in any of those games because he was sick with a 103 fever. The next weekend we had games just to see who was the Schweinfurt Champs. There were 4 teams, so the winners of the 2 games played each other. They won their first game in overtime by 1 point. They played the next day for the championship and also won by 1 point. That was 2 great games. I will post pictures of them and their trophy as soon as I get them. My battery was dead so I didn't get to take any. These are pictures from their lunch at Burker King. Their coach bought them all lunch that day.
Here are a couple of pictures of Lucas receiving his award for the all A honor roll. He made it in the Golden Knights for having been on the honor roll for 2 consecutive quarters.
Finally, we are back in the states. While we still love to see historical places and learn about the places we travel to, now that we're closer to family, I should be able to start posting more family pictures.
