KY Dam Marina

These pictures were taken on the last four day when Les came home to visit. We rented a pontoon boat and rode around on the lake for hours. It was so much fun and so relaxing and a beautiful day to be on the lake. We will definately be doing this again!

chillin on the lake

Here's Les relaxing while Nathan drove the boat.

So, I figure if I never get my house on the beach, one of these on the lake will do...

Nathan was the only one brave enough to jump in the water...and it was cold:)

boat fun

Just chillin' in the sun...

Lucas and Nathan had so much fun driving the boat...

family pics

Shelia wanted a picture showing how much taller Lucas was than her. I think it's fair to say he's at least a head taller...sorry Shelia:)

Lambert's Cafe listed as one of 10 great places to take an exit to good eatin' in USA Today article.
Travel Channel's #1 Top place to pig out

Yea, we had to take Shelia and Virgil to Lambert's to eat. You can't come all the way to Sikeston and not visit the home of the throwed rolls! We've ate there a few times and there is no way you can leave that place and not be stuffed and taking home a doggie bag!!

Tractors, McCain and Obama??

Obama and McCain were in the Cotton Carnival duking it out!!

Parade...Supporting the Troops

Although we are not even close to a military base here, I was very impressed with all the support that was shown in this years parade.

This year the theme was honoring our Gold Star Mothers and our flag.
Gold Star Mothers are American women whose children have died in the line of duty while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Cotton Carnival Parade

For the first time ever, the Budweiser Clydesdales were featured in Sikeston's annual parade.
"They are one of the most recognizable corporate icons in the world," said Pete Petersen, hitch supervisor. "Budweiser has been using the Clydesdales for pulling the wagon for 75 years -- this is the 75th anniversary. Ever since the Prohibition was repealed they have been using the horses."
The dalmation on the wagon is "King".

The horses in this particular team are named Carter, Chad, Sterling, Doc, Diamond, Mark, Yankee, Marshal, Jeff and Mitch.

I took pictures of every tractor!

I love the horses.
