It was super windy on one side of the monument

My hair was blowing straight back on this side. I have another picture where it's going everywhere.

To the left of the monument shaft, as seen from the parking plaza and about 12 feet underground, a cemetery was found which probably dates from the Middle Ages.

This is a picture of an old church we drove by. We thought it was interesting with all the different blocks it is built from.

The imposing shaft of the Montfaucon Monument rises 200 feet above the ruing of
the former hilltop village of Montfaucon and dominates the surrounding countryside.
Before its capture by the American 37th and 79th Division on 27 September 1918, the site
provided the German forces with excellent observation.

That is a set of church ruins that we looked down upon once we got to the top of the monument. I will post pictures of us at the ruins later.
